Countdown Game Show at South Florida Fair

Guinness Book of World Records has just come out with their 2012 edition.  Among the amazing, weird and wonderful world records were the most dogs jumping rope, the longest tongue, and of course the world’s largest Spam sandwich.   But one record was noticeably missing from the many pages of remarkable feats, and that was The World’s Most Live Game Show Productions in One Month, accomplished by The Game Show Source.  By making appearances at the South Florida Fair, Coconut Creek’s Township Day, jetting off to Biloxi, Mississippi, and even Sheboygan, Wisconsin, fifty-seven live, interactive game shows were produced by the Game Show Source in January 2012.

We will keep you updated on future record-breaking events.

Fun and Interactive Game for Store Promotion – Great Game for Trade Show Booth Traffic Builder

National Hispanic Heritage Month is the period from September 15 to October 15, a time to honor Latin heritage, culture and achievements. We had the privilege of being part of this wonderful celebration at a Macy’s in-store promotion. Customers participated in the Quest for the Best, an interactive trivia game where questions flashed on a screen and the participants selected their answers using wireless remotes. We were able to incorporate a variety of informative and entertaining subject matters highlighting the success and rich traditions of the Latino community.
Quest for the Best, using hand-held remotes, is perfect for a wide range of applications including store promotions, product promotions, and trade shows. Contestants enjoy the competition while learning about new products, ideas and branding, and have an opportunity to win prizes and interact with staff.

Interactive Game Show – The many applications for In It To Win It

Interactive team building game show

In It To Win It Team Building Competition

Use In It To Win It as a team building and TV style interactive game show event: The popular TV game show Minute To Win It has inspired us to create game show packages that work in a wide variety of events.  In most cases, we divide the attendees into teams.  The challenges are designed to be fun for the contestants to play and the audience to watch and cheer.  In addition, we create challenges that relate to the business or industry of the participants.  Some of the challenges need just one or two teammates to play and others involve 3, 4, 5 or more teammates.  We really mix it up with the challenges and the way they are performed.  Some of the challenges are done one at a time by each of the teams; others are performed all at the same time.  Our exclusive custom software has a brief description of the challenge, a picture or logo, and the clock.  The clock either counts down with a pre-set number of seconds or it can count up.  This is a valuable feature since some of the challenges work better as timed events.  We have customized this show for a wide range of events, and it’s always a hit!

Interactive game show

In It To Win It interactive experience

In It To Win It is excellent for trade shows: Create buzz about your products and services at your trade show booth.  We can create fun, interactive In It To Win It games that tie in with your product or service and bring traffic to your booth.  Trade show attendees will have fun playing and watching others compete for prizes.  Just think of all the ways we can promote your company and tie in your messaging.

Use In It To Win It as an interactive experience for attendees at a corporate event, banquet, Bar/Bat Mitzvah, or social event: We set up “stations” with different In It To Win It games.  Each station has a video monitor on a stand which displays the In It To Win It software, signs for the game, a speaker for the countdown sounds, up lighting and a backdrop.  The software shows the description of the game, countdown clock and picture or logo for the game.  Attendees go from station to station and earn raffle tickets for trying the challenge and additional tickets for completing the challenge successfully.

Use as an add-on to any of our other interactive game show packages: In It To Win It interactive challenges are fun in between other game shows, or during band breaks, and in between other entertainment.  This is a great way to add pop to your next event.   The other bonus here is that with many of the Game Show packages and some other shows the audio/visual equipment is already in place.  Obviously, this saves time and money.

No matter which application suits your event, give us a call and we will work together with you to create the interactive game show package that is best for you.

MTV HEADS BACK TO SCHOOL – AND AMBUSHES STUDENTS – WITH NEW GAME SHOW “THE SUBSTITUTE”

“The Substitute” Debuts September 12 and Airs Weekdays at 4:30 p.m. ET/PT on MTV

Santa Monica, CA (September  1, 2011)—MTV is taking over classrooms this fall with a brand new game show series, “The Substitute,” beginning  Monday, September 12 at 4:30 p.m. ET/PT. Hosted by comedian Jon Gabrus, unsuspecting students quickly find out that their substitute teacher isn’t really a substitute, and instead of class they will be competing in a series of trivia and interactive challenges for the chance to win a cash price of $5,000.  The half-hour series will air weekdays at 4:30 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.

Throughout each episode students have the chance to participate in four rounds.  The classroom begins with twenty students, that get pared down after each round.

    • Round One: “Things You Should Know:” Trivia questions that focus on academics, subjects such as history, math, literature and politics.  At the end of this round, there are 10 finalists left.
    • Round Two: “Things You Do Know:” Trivia questions that are pop-culture in nature. This round ends with five students moving on to the next round.
    • Round Three: “What You Do:” An interactive challenge that gets students moving – such as solving math equations to open combination locks, a rapid-fire spelling bee, and a blind typing test.  The student that wins this round goes on to face the People’s Choice – in another surprise twist, the classroom gets to vote on their peer they want to go up against the student in the lead.
    • Round Four: “Things You Think:” Students are polled in advance and contestants must guess the top answer, for example “We polled the student body and they said the best activity for a first date is…”

With the classroom cheering on– if the student in the lead wins round four, they take home $5,000 – but if the People’s Choice student wins, the whole class splits the $5,000.

Host Jon Gabrus  is an actor, host, writer and long time UCB theatre-based improviser.  He recently hosted BBC-America’s Rugby series segment, “Gabrus on Rugby.”  Last year he guest starred on the Comedy Central series “Big Lake,” co-wrote and starred in a 6-episode comedy series for Spike called “Mocap, LLC.,” and hosted a 16-part web series for College Humor and Norelco called “The Crucial Man.” He also shot a supporting role for the Mila Kunis/Justin Timberlake romantic comedy “Friends with Benefits,” and regularly appears on NBC’s “30 Rock.”

“The Substitute” is produced by Embassy Row a Sony Pictures Television company, based on original concept by Phear Creative.  “The Substitute” is executive produced by Michael Davies, Elliot Phear and Bryan Terry.  Brent Haynes, Brooke Posch and Catherine K. Whyte are the MTV executives in charge.

Trivia Game Shows create a very special event

Ever since we were young, we have watched trivia game shows on TV.  It’s fun to watch Jeopardy® and guess the answer to a question before the contestant on TV buzzes in.  There are many reasons why some of the most popular and longest running shows on television are game shows.  Jeopardy®, Who Wants to be a Millionaire®, Wheel of Fortune®, and Family Feud® are still on TV even more than ten years after they first aired.  We all like to see people interact, have fun, win money and prizes.
Over the past twenty years we have created many different ways for you to enjoy the same fun and excitement that we all enjoy on TV.  The Game Show Source captures the essence and thrill of a TV game show, then we integrate team play and team building along with audience interaction to create an awesome live performance game show for your event!
No matter what size group you have, 25 to 2,500 people, we will create a fun and interactive trivia game show for your event.
